If your mic is not detecting audio in Zoom, it could be due to a few reasons:. Always do a mic test and playback in Zoom before you join a meeting to make sure others will be able to hear you.

Try these fixes in order until you can use your mic on Zoom:. Make sure your mic is connected and turned on. If using an external mic, examine the connecting cable, or check your Bluetooth settings if using a wireless mic. For wired mics, try plugging it into a different USB port. For Bluetooth devices, make sure the battery is charged. Select Join Audio. Zoom usually requests access to your mic before you join a meeting, but in case you missed it, you can select Join Audio at the bottom of the Zoom window.

Make sure you're not muted in Zoom. If the microphone icon has a line through it in your Zoom window, select the Sound icon to unmute yourself. Make sure your microphone is selected in Zoom. During a meeting, select the up arrow next to the Microphone icon and make sure the desired mic is chosen.

If other people can hear you, but you can't hear them, make sure the right speaker is chosen under Select a Speaker. Ask the meeting organizer to unmute you. If you think the person hosting the meeting muted you, send them a message in chat and ask to be unmuted.

Check your device settings. Go to the device's settings to see if your mic is enabled. Reinstalling the drivers worked for some people, but not for me. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.

Win10 Pro; all MS updates; all other apps work but not Zoom for speakers. Mic works fine. At one time I tried a headset but I can't test it now.

I'm having the same problem on my all-in-one Lenovo computer. All settings, volumes, etc. The speakers work fine everywhere except a Zoom meeting! I updated Zoom, checked drivers for updates, etc. Hope someone can help! I have same issue on Mac for last 2 weeks I have 45 years in IT so believe me when i say it is a Zoom problem. Thank you for your response! I guess I'll just keep updating Zoom on this computer and use a tablet until this gets resolved.

This is a new problem that's popped up in the past few weeks! Very frustrating! Thanks again Same problem here. New LG laptop, Win Speakers work for all apps except Zoom. Hope they address this serious issue, as Zoom is currently unusable to me. Same problem. Zoom audio worked just fine last night. This morning it fails to detect audio. What happened overnight?! Same problem with my mom's laptop. I have the same issue on my Lenovo.

I have used the same laptop for 2 years and never had an audio problem with Zoom. Now suddenly no speakers detected. No problem with my speakers at all in any other application just as other commenters have noted. Is Zoom doing anything to address this issue?

  Step 1: During a Zoom meeting on your mobile device, tap on the screen to bring up the calling. On the home screen, click the down arrow icon next to New Meeting and uncheck Start With Video. Your meeting will then start with only audio.
